The Most Important Thing Right Now!

Motivated

Whew! Been a minute! Okay ...

Non-stop

Since the last time I updated this page (which seems more suicidal as it proceeds) I have had my first DC Comics work published in Ricanstruction: Reminiscing & Rebuilding Puerto Rico, a benefit anthology from Somos Arte, the makers of La Borinquena.

My three page story is called "A Mover La Colita," a reminder of a song I used to hear that always cracked me up for some reason. In it, the teleporter Misfit has gotten out of the superhero game and gotten adopted by slightly conservative parents in a red state, a long way from Gotham City.

The time traveler Chronos appears, trying to recruit her to steal vital supplies back from the 100 and teleport them to Puerto Rico. There's a fun reveal at the end and punching mobsters, which is always a hoot.

The book is available now, has significantly more famous and impressive people than me contributing as well and supports a good cause, so I strongly recommend it in every way.

Who's Keeping Time?

Speaking of time travelers, I've been teasing my work on the ongoing series Time Corps from Wunderman Comics for a while. I'm already ... six scripts in (as in done, sent to the publisher, approved and paid for) but the release date has yet to be announced.

However ... it's driving me crazy not talking about it, so I'll only say one thing: meet Malcontent.

She lives in the year 3,114, which is a global and perfect and peaceful human society overseen by the sentient, benevolent AI Mother. She has a genius level intellect. She wants to watch it all burn. I'm very proud of her. I can't wait for you to find out more.

Still Mine!

The Eisner-nominated anthology I worked on with my creative partner Quinn McGowan is up for a Ringo Award at Baltimore Comic-Con. If you're a comics pro, please go vote now!

UPDATE: WE FREAKIN' WON!

Burn, Baby, Burn

As of this writing in early August 2018, we're almost done with Project Wildfire: Street Justice, the weekly web comic we started ... spirit knows how long ago. I finished scripting it some time ago, so seeing these last pages come in is very rewarding. We're considering how to approach what's next for 2019, but if you caught Quinn at San Diego Comic-Con, you might have gotten a print copy of the first installment ... in color. The plan is to have the entire story for sale by King Day in January.

Back to you in the studio, Hal ...
